Congress leader Pawan Khera hit back at Anurag Thakur’s statement questioning Rahul Gandhi’s caste. He said, ‘Rahul Gandhi’s father’s name is Shaheed Rajiv Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi’s caste is martyrdom which Anurag Thakur, RSS and BJP will not understand.’ He said that no matter how much you abuse the Gandhi family, caste census will definitely take place in India. Pawan Khera said that the country is shocked and saddened by Anurag Thakur’s statement.
‘I sympathize with you’
In the video of Pawan Khera shared by Congress, he is saying that we do not want your apology. Pawan Khera said, ‘This mentality can only be of BJP, which uses abusive words for the son of a martyr’s family. Well, you keep saying whatever you want. We do not want your apology, but caste census will definitely be done in India.’
Pawan Khera (Pawan Khera) also posted a video on X account. Pawan Khera said, ‘Anurag Thakur, we sympathize with you that your ministry was taken away. You are expressing your anger by abusing our party and leaders, but we are happy that you have improved since before, you have come from bullets to abuses.’ He also shared many old videos of Anurag Thakur in which he is raising provocative slogans.
Battle over ‘caste’
In the Lok Sabha on Tuesday (30 July), BJP leader Anurag Thakur said, ‘The one whose caste is not known talks about census.’ Only after this, the opposition MPs created a ruckus and raised slogans in the House. Rahul Gandhi also immediately stood up and alleged that Anurag Thakur ji has insulted me.

Along with Rahul Gandhi, SP President Akhilesh Yadav also targeted Anurag Thakur on his caste statement. Rahul Gandhi said, ‘Anurag Thakur ji has insulted but I do not want an apology from him and I do not need it either. You can abuse him as much as you want but I will never ask you to apologize.’
